From Light To Shadow

Hi all, I am really proud to invite you to a project that myself and my photo partner Merri-Lou Paterson have been working on for the last number of months. The photography exhibition is called "From Light to Shadow - and back again" and focus’s on 10 women that have survived breast cancer. This project was born out of a desire to help promote breast cancer awareness, and to allow these 10 women to tell their stories and personal experience with diagnosis, recovery, support, healing and the importance of mentorship.
The photographs are 30×48 in size (incredibly large and powerful) and will be accompanied by a multi-media piece which is how their stories are told. I invite you to come, the opening is on September 14th at 7:30pm at the Cre8ery Gallery 125 Adelaide Street on the second floor in Winnipeg, MB. I believe the opening itself is going to be a very neat event, all of the women in the photographs will be there, and that in itself is going to be really amazing. The show runs until September 22nd, and I’ve attached below a copy of the invitation, so you have gallery hours and address and times.
This has been one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever been a part of, and whether you are male or female you will leave this exhibition with something. The support we have received well working on this project proves to both Merri-Lou and I that this project NEEDED to be done. It felt like it had legs already, and we just helped guide it. There is something that glows about these women, as they are incredibly strong and beautiful, and it really shows that it’s inner beauty, strength and character that are the most beautiful qualities in a person.
I hope to see you then!
Kerri Woelke
