Chapter One: A Kid And A Coffee Cup ~ John H. Wilkinson
CHAPTER ONE: A KID AND A COFFEE CUP
Father God… too often we get so caught up in the tailoring process of our lives that we seldom take a second glance at those around us – at least not seriously – certainly not if it is going to cost us in any way.
It seems that our identity becomes much of what we do, what we own, and what worlds we value. The only story that matters is mine. However, my life could be so much fuller and richer if I could simply look beyond myself.
Father God… please take the runners off my feet, the shades off my eyes, and the shackles off my heart so that I might truly enter the world of another, to hear their story, and to provide the dignity, compassion and generosity so that they might participate in hope.
Father God… by your grace and mercy, may others enter into my life. Give me the freedom so that they may bless my heart, mind and soul in new ways. And may we each be passionate about the possibility of making a difference even if it comes at great cost.
Amen
