I purchased your book Bent Hope at a recent Steve Bell concert and just wanted to say “thank you”. The Lord used it to change my heart. I didn’t realize what my actions were teaching my children. We often help mission efforts and my daughter even recently made bracelets to sell to raise money for Peru’s mountain villages because she had heard through our missionary friends that many were dying because of an extra cold winter. However, on our recent trip to Toronto we advised our children to NOT look at the panhandler tapping on our car window. We said it was for safety reasons because our children were with us. It frightens me to think the lesson they learned that day. What greater lesson could have been taught that day if we had indeed trusted God with their protection and then reached out with Hope and love to the beautiful smile on the other side of the glass. Thank you for your book. God used it as a gentle rebuke and a large challenge for my heart.
The girls and I homeschool and we will be praying for you, your family and your ministry in Toronto and for God to show us opportunities to share His hope to those who need it most.
    Sincerely,
    Tricia Forsey

    Hi Tim,

I just came from hearing you speak at the “Be a Hero, Be a Voice, for Affordable Housing, held here in Milton. I brought my children with me, who were reluctant at first, but soon became enthralled in your speech. Honestly, you brought me to tears. The whole evening was amazing, and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be there.
I am currently a full time student at Sheridan College, in the Social Service Worker-Immigration and Refugee settlement field. I also work PT as the Community Liason for the Transitional Housing program at the Halton Multicultural Council in Oakville.
I know that you are highly sought after for public speaking…but am wondering if you would be interested in being a guest speaker at Sheridan College for the Social Service Work students that will be graduating next April. After hearing you speak, and the message that you portray, I feel that we would benefit greatly by having you share your insights with us.
I feel that you could really make an impact on the students in this field, about what it really means to help.
Thank you so much for the books. My kids were so happy with them.
Again, thank you so much…and I hope that you will be in contact with me in regards to speaking to some of the students.
If this is not possible, I understand. I will definitely pass on your message to them.

Hi Tim: I heard you speak at Rexdale Alliance and have been reading Bent Hope. I would dearly love to be able to make a contribution to where ever you require funds right now. Could you please let me know how to go about this.
I also will be praying for God’s wisdom, strength and help as you follow His leading.
May He bless you and your family

Hi Tim. I hardly know where to start but to say ” Thank you ” for doing for these homeless youth what people like me have never had the nerve or fortitude to attempt. My heart has always yearned to reach out but i never knew how to go about it and the shame i have felt over the years for saying no to God for my lack of faith has at times consumed me. God bless you my brother for your love for these people who because of my reading ” Bent Hope ” have been brought alive to me in a precious way. My wife is now reading this book and we are having some great discussions in regards to how the media has conditioned us to respond to or maybe not respond to the homeless and to be kept in fear of these children who God loves and commands us to reach out to as well.
Please pray for me Tim as i have been struggling with God for the last couple of years in regards to where he wants me to be and how he wants me to help our young people. I currently am an autoworker who is likely to lose his job but for me it is an exciting time as i approach this next portion of my life and look to serve our Father in a great way. My wife ( Ruby ) and i currently work with youth through our church ( Markdale Baptist ) and we love it so much. I am currently researching some courses to take in order to be more effective in serving God in the near future. Although i was a troubled youth who grew up in Toronto as well i realize how God is using those past troubles to reach out and bless these young people that he has put in our care.
Please be assured that we will pray for you and i/we would love the opportunity to share in reaching out at some point in the near future if this is at all possible. I was so unaware just how vunerable these children are and would treasure being able to walk with you or one of your workers and to serve those who need it the most.
Be well and be blessed. your brother in Christ, Dave Ollerton

I am in the process of reading Bent Hope. It has opened my eye’s to the homeless. I am only on Chapter 4 and so far i have cried, been angry at how people mis-treat the homeless and also laughed – but most of all I have prayed. I pray for myself too that next time i will see the homeless and not look the other way.
THANK YOU for writing this book.
May God Bless you and the work you do.
